Things I Should Be Doing...

...Not necessarily in this order:

1) Cleaning my messy post-holiday house.
2) Putting away 4 loads of clean laundry. (It goes without saying that those 4 loads are incredibly wrinkly.)
3) Addressing and sending New Year's cards. (Email me your address if you want one.)
4) Planning Henry's 5th birthday party. (Yuck)
5) Planning Stake YW Leadership meeting that is this Saturday!
6) Reworking and studying and organizing the music for a youth choir that I have to conduct.  Our first practice is on Sunday. Yikes! (This is for you Annie: I have notation software!)
7) Buying birthday presents for Henry. (Didn't he just get a boatload of presents?)
8) Helping Ethan prepare a talk he has to give at a Stake baptism fireside.
9) Blogging about our Christmas festivities. (How does one post a video?)
10) Planning our trip to Disneyland in 2 1/2 weeks.

Heaven help me.  When I feel this overwhelmed, I shut down and find myself curled up with a book and a diet Coke.

Our to-do lists are significantly different, but we share the desire to avoid them completely when overwhelmed. I have given up on cards this season, but would still selfishly love one from you! And I'm so jealous about Disneyland! Have fun, and let's go to dinner when you get back!

Is it wrong that we kind of avoid birthday gifts for our kids? Usually Doug picks something up on the way home from work! If I were you, I'd just put the list away and surf random blogs on the internet (oh wait, that's exactly what I'm doing ... not that yours is a random blog!).

Yes, I remember you!! Thanks for leaving a comment, now I get to read this blog of yours. I'm excited!

And I am so jealous of those book clubs. I seriously want to move back just to join. I remember Annie mentioning that book, I am definitely going to put it on the list. Thanks for the idea.

And your comment about me spelling everything correctly made me laugh out loud, because if that's what makes you want to read my blog, turn back now!!! I am constantly making the worst typos and not finding them for hours. It seriously kills my soul.

Curl up in a ball. That's going to be your best option. I'm overwhelmed for you! I've been planning lizie's birthday (without a party...my condolences to you) and trying to redecorate my room and those two things alone have been enough to make me feel stressed. Heaven bless you for being so talented and great that you have all these things on your plate. Can I help you? Do you need an accompanist for your choir?

P.s. blogger takes forever to upload videos so I always upload mine to a site called onetruemedia, then I click on a button that says share or post online...someone like that...and then I get the code to embed it into my post. Just copy and paste the code right into your blog. call me if you need help.

P.p.s. how did the tights/shoes thing go?
