Cousins Forever

About 12 or 13 years ago, my cousin Donnette started a Girls Night with my maternal cousins.  Donnette lives in Hawaii and she realized that when she came into town she saw her siblings but never saw any other family.
Thus a tradition was born.
Every summer for one night only my cousins and cousin-in-laws meet for dinner and talking and laughing.  We stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning then grab a couple of hours of sleep before a continental breakfast.
We used to have an outing of some sort: shopping, movie, dinner, etc.  Then we decided we'd rather talk than ride in cars somewhere so we make dinner potluck at someone's house and we don't have any organized activities.  It's a day I look forward to.
I've stayed close with Hintze (my mom's maiden name and pronounced HINT-ZEE) cousins mostly because my mom and her sisters were very close growing up.  Sometimes my aunts and mom join us (you'll see only one aunt in the photo below.  My aunt Karen in tan on the back row).   The pre-requisites for attending are you have to be a Hintze or married to one and you have to be at least 18 years old.  It's fun that now some of my cousins daughters are able to join us.
This year, my cousin Raina and Amber joined us for the first time.  Raina has lived all over the world and now lives in Colorado.  She felt she was close enough to finally fly in for cousins' night.  It was a special night for me.  Love my extended family.

Back row: Jodi (my sister), Angie, Kami, Ashlyn (Jen's daughter), Jen, Renel, LeAnn, Dawn (cousin-in-law), Karen (my aunt, also known as Pete), Wendy (my sister), Heather (cousin-in-law).
Middle row: Amber, Lori (cousin-in-law), Donnette, Jessica (Donnette's daughter sitting behind Donnette), Chelsie (LeAnn's daughter), Tresa, Melissa (cousin-in-law).
Front row: Raina, me.
