Baja Sun

Landon and I just got back from a week in Cabo San Lucas.  We went with long-time friends, Rich and Jenni, and new friends, Marc and Cammy.

We stayed here.  It was gorgeous, roomy, private, clean, and quiet.

Opening night finds us at Pepe's for shrimp tacos.  The chips here were like crack: so addicting.  We came back here a second night.

The view from my bedroom: I got to look at that all day long.  Isn't he an Adonis?

Our bedroom is the door on the left.  Marc and Cammy are in the door to the right.  Rich and Jenni are upstairs on the right.  (Huge house and only 3 bedrooms; what a waste!)

Backgammon on the balcony

A recurring theme:  lounging in the pool.
Another recurring theme:  Rich making an awkward appearance in every photo.

Dinner in town at Hacienda Beach Club.  Unbelievable ambience and even better food and even better mocktails and even better churros.

Look at that empty beach.  Awesome.

One night we hired the house manager's mother to come cook for us.
Shrimp Tacos.  Chile Relleno.  Rice.  Beans with chorizo.  Guacamole.  Salsa.  Tortilla Soup.  Flan.
Unreal.

Mexican heaven.

Me and Jenni doing what we do best.

The boys found some skim boards in the garage and tried skimming.

It wasn't pretty.

Marc was the only fool to get in that crazy surf.  The waves broke right on the beach pretty hard; it wasn't a real swimming beach.

Rich is wondering if he's going to have to go in to save Marc.  I was having a heart attack.

The boys made up a game called "Baja Paddle Ball"

Apparently there's a dispute.  Rich is Ref/Official Scorekeeper/Last-Word-on-Disputes.

FYI:  our house is the second one from the left in the background.

Perfect evening.

Back at Pepe's for more shrimp tacos and the hugest mango margarita--"sin alcohol"

Buying jewelry on the beach from our friend, Atalo.  Have I mentioned I hate haggling?

Back at Hacienda Beach Club a second time.  I can never eat a churro at Costco again.

Once the churros were gone, Cammy was inhaling the caramel and chocolate sauce.

Wonderful trip with wonderful people.
The only negative from the trip is the deep-sea fishing trip where the guys may or may not have gotten gyped and someone may or may not have been puking and pooping overboard.  But it makes for a great story; ask Landon sometime.

It all looks so dreamy... You guys are vacationing fools! Thanks for the detailed recap on the food- I think that was my favorite part about our trip to Cancun- and we didn't have the house lady cooking for us!! Can't get better than that.

Okay, I'm getting a bit concerned that you all have been traveling all over and yet not once did we see you're big brown eyes on our front porch! Wouldn't even charge a room tax, because I'm nice like that!!!!
