A House Becomes a Home

I commissioned my friend Holli Yoho to paint a watercolor of our house. She just delivered it and I'm pleased as punch. We have this cool brick on our home that reads purpley-blue that I think is distinctive on our street. I love our pillared, bricked porch. Our yard looks better in this painting than it does in real life (I've mentioned my hatred of yardwork, yes? )

(sorry for the crooked photo, Holli)

I will totally treasure this and if we ever change homes, I'll have her paint another. The fact that a dear friend painted this makes it all the more special to me.
I just bought a frame and I'll attempt (I hate hanging pictures almost as much as yardwork) to hang it in our living room.
Having real artwork makes me feel like such a grown-up.
Time to take down the Kirk Cameron posters.

P.S. Holli is totally talented and totally reasonable. Let me know if you want her contact info.

Oh, I love this! Holli's painting of our Dearborn house is one of my most treasured pieces. Yours turned out perfectly!
