Thursday Hiking Club

Our neighbor and (very fit) friend, Marilee, started a Thursday morning hiking group for the summer. She chooses a different, short hike each week and anyone who feels up to it can tag along. The Farmers have gone twice and let's just say that I don't come from a long line of strong hikers. They've been a bit overwhelming for me, but it's been needed exercise and fun to be with friends. My kids love it.

Henry hiked 1/2-mile up to Bell Canyon Reservoir like a little mountain goat. He was miles ahead of his mother. The stick really does help.

At Bell Canyon Reservoir. Henry and I stayed here at the lake while the rest of the group went higher to the waterfalls. It nearly killed me to get this far.

This past Thursday, July 7, we hiked up to Dog Lake by Brighton. As you can see, there was still a ton of snow. Poor Henry kept slipping and falling which really cheesed him off. He grumbled most of the way. He gets very concerned that we are so far behind the rest of the group and worries that we'll get lost.

Perhaps I need to start a "Thursday Walking-on-a-Level-Path Club."
